一度輪值「三缺一」的印地安人，最近又遇到了先發投手調度上的麻煩，原定預計明天出戰美聯冠軍賽第2戰的Trevor Bauer(特雷弗·鮑爾)，因為場外因素，造成右小指受傷，需要逢上數針，因此將延後至第3戰先發，明日先發則改由Josh Tomlin頂替。

Francona還能如此幽默的回應，是因為Bauer的傷勢並沒有太嚴重，在隊醫陪同下，他在這3天好好的修養，應該是不會影響在第3戰的出賽。
不過印地安人雖然已經殺進美聯冠軍賽，不過卻也傷痕累累，輪值已經禁不起再有人受傷，他們接連失去Danny Salazar(右臂不適)Carlos Carrasco(右手掌斷裂)，如果Bauer也接著宣布不能投，那屆時搞不好三人輪換的想法就真的必須付諸實踐了。
雖然臨危受命，但是Tomlin倒是很樂觀的表示，這不是球隊第一個遇到的難題了，從春訓以來大家就不斷地面對阻礙，但球隊上下都不會去逃避，反而會將之視為前進的動力。
不過當記者問到Tomlin，是否聽過有投手因為玩遙控飛機而受傷的時候，Tomlin卻忍不住笑了出來。
